Healing Mo/R, need some advice
I've been going through the game with a Mo/R. I'm looking for some ways to improve my healing abbilities, but I'm also having trouble with energy management. It's for PvE, but I like to try to make all my builds at least viable in PvP. Here's what I've got so far:
Attributes (Total of 185 for now)
Healing Prayers: 12 + 1 + 1
Divine Favor: 10 + 1
Wilderness Survival: 6
Remaining points to Smiting or Protection as needed (utility)
Skills:
Orison of Healing
Heal Party (Emergency use only)
Word of Healing {E}
Mend Ailment
(Utility slot) I prefer Smite Hex or Heal Other as needed
Dryder's Defense (Defense skill)
Storm Chaser (Escape and light energy management)
Resurrect
With a full set of Tattoos, but a pretty junky staff, I've got 41 energy, which is more than enough for most cases. My problem is when I need to power out heals. I can do it, but it costs. Without a Battery or another healer, I run out of energy and spells so fast that people start dropping. So, what I'm looking for is either some energy management skill I've overlooked (Storm Chaser helps a little, but I end up just using that energy to heal myself anyway. I've also thought about Melandru's Resiliance, but I'm not sure if that'll help me here).
Does anyone have any recommendations for me on this?

Well for pve just with 4 pips of regen should be enough...only time u really need a battery is in fow, and if ur team is taking to much damage and u cant keep up...well they are taking way to much damage or aggroed to many enimies...now for pvp u defenatly want some energy management which i strongly recommend u go mes, with channeling for ha, or e drain with inspired hex or drain enchant with inspired hex...well hope this helped...

I run the following skill bar and find that I can keep just about anyone up and never run low on energy.
For PvE
Heal Other 10e
Sig of Devotion 0e
Healing Seed 15e - high but is pre-fight so its regained
Healing Touch 5e - my self heal, or someone close
Orison of Healing 5e
Word of Healing (E) 5e
Dwana's Kiss 5e
Rebirth/Restore Life 10e
This set up works wonders for me, give it a shot.
With the low energy/low cast times/quick recharge there is the opportunity for spammability on many of the heals.
*Not sure how viable this is in PvP without any condition removal or any real energy management besides all skills having low energy to start with, but in PvE you should be able to spam heals past any major NPC degen out there and manage your energy just fine, IMO.*

Thanks for the advice, guys. I swapped Heal Party for Healing Seed and it made a huge difference in my build.
Took it through THK. It was fine until the first major wave of Jades. Then I found out the hard way that I forgot to infuse my new armor. Rats!
Ah well, here's my new build. This works a lot better:
Attributes:
Healing: 12 + 1 + 1
Divine: 12 + 1
Wilderness Survival: 3
Skills:
Orison (only self heal, don't use on others unless you have to)
Healing Seed (Throw on during the charge)
Word of Healing (Primary healing)
Mend Ailment (as needed, utility)
(Utility Slot)
Dryder's Defense (Lower cost version of WD, mix with WASD for max effect)
Storm Chaser (Light e-management/escape)
Resurrection (or res of choice)
Now all I need is a staff that's worth something and I'm in buisness

I would suggest that you bring rebirth if you are a primary healer. Most people will thank you for saving the whole team after everyone died and youre the only one left. Its great for ressing without aggroing those "body camping" monsters. just a thought

The following is what I use for PvE.
First thing you need to to do is complete your two 15 attrib quests. They're pretty easy and 30 points go a long way. Find me in game if you need a hand. IGN = Lord Omnipata
I run 16 in HP, and 15 in DF. I use a 20/20 collectors staff with +4 insightful and +5 AL which gives you 51 energy. You can get 52 energy with a perfect +5 insightful but not worth the cost imo.
I used to be a big fan of WoH until I started using Offering of Blood (Nec Elite). I now no longer use WoH.
Now a lot of people will say that OoB has been nerfed, but for PvE it's fine. I use two Sup runes so the sacrifice is diminished somewhat. Sure 10% was a lot better, but now it just makes you think twice before using it.
Anyway, if you're having issues with Energy you need to be either a N or Me (energy drain/mantra of recall -- I prefer Drain). Actually, I see no point in any other secondary for a monk. I'm sure I'll get flamed for that but oh well. You don't know how many Mo/W I've seen in TOPK lately and they all suck. Stereotyping I know, but I digress. Give me one good reason why you would have a W second on a healing monk.
I run the following skills:
Orison
Breeze
Heal Other
Dwayna's Kiss
Healing Touch (self heal)
Purge Conditions/Mend Ailment
OoB
Rebirth
I spam OoB whenever it's recycled -- I also carry a 20/20 collector blood staff that I switch to before casting OoB in hope that I'll score a recharge.
I use this build pretty much everywhere for PvE -- FOW, UW, TOPK, missions whatever. You don't need a necro to cast blood ritual on you all the time -- another peave of mine but anyway.
Hope that helps -- props on trying the ranger secondary with the monk. I don't see many of them at all. Unfortunately, for energy management N and Me are the only way to fly.
